Editorial Policy
1. Our Commitment
CopartCalc is dedicated to providing accurate, transparent, and useful fee information to auto auction buyers. Every piece of content on this site exists to help you make a more informed decision about the true cost of buying a vehicle at a Copart auction.
We believe that fee transparency should not require insider knowledge or hours of research. Our editorial goal is to present fee data in a clear, honest, and accessible way.
2. Data Sources
All fee rates, brackets, and rules used in our calculator are sourced from:
- Copart public member fee schedules — The fee tables Copart publishes for its members.
- Official Copart website — Copart.com, including its help center and fee information pages.
We do not use leaked, private, or unofficial data. If a fee rate cannot be verified through a public source, we clearly note that on the relevant page.
3. Review Process
Maintaining accuracy is an ongoing process. Our review process includes:
- Regular reviews — Fee data is reviewed on a regular schedule to ensure it matches the latest publicly available information.
- Per-page review dates — Every content page on CopartCalc displays a "Last reviewed" date at the bottom, so you can see exactly when the information was last checked.
- User-reported corrections — We actively encourage users to report discrepancies. When a user flags a potential error, we investigate promptly and update the data if needed.
4. Updates
When Copart changes its fee structure, we:
- Verify the change against the official Copart fee schedule.
- Update our calculator and any affected content pages.
- Update the "Last reviewed" date on all modified pages.
- Note significant changes where relevant so returning visitors can see what has been updated.
5. Corrections
We take accuracy seriously. If you find an error in our fee data or calculations, please contact us at hello@copartcalc.site. Include as much detail as possible — the specific fee, the page you found it on, and what the correct amount should be. We will investigate and, if necessary, publish a correction promptly.
6. Content Standards
Every content page on CopartCalc must meet the following standards:
- Directly answer the question — Content should address the user's need clearly and promptly, without unnecessary filler.
- Include real data or examples — Where possible, we provide actual fee amounts, worked examples, or tables rather than vague generalities.
- Link to sources — When we reference a fee schedule or external rule, we link to the source so you can verify it yourself.
- Be honest about limitations — We always clarify what our estimates do and do not cover.
7. Independence
CopartCalc is an independent project. We are not influenced by Copart, Inc. or any other auction platform in what we publish. Our fee data is based solely on publicly available information, and our editorial decisions are guided by the goal of providing the most accurate and useful tool possible.
We do not accept payment to alter fee data, and we do not have a commercial relationship with Copart, Inc.
